Ingredients

  • ½ Tbsp olive oil

  • ½ yellow onion, finely diced

  • 2 lbs ground beef (90/10)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • 6 oz shredded medium cheddar cheese

  • 8 slices cheddar cheese

  • 24-pack soft dinner rolls

  • 2 Tbsp melted butter

  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté diced onion until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.

  • Season the beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Drain excess fat.

  • Stir in the mayonnaise and remove from heat.

  • Slice the dinner rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in a greased or parchment-lined baking dish.

  • Lay sliced cheddar cheese evenly over the bottom rolls.

  • Spoon the beef mixture over the cheese, then sprinkle shredded cheddar evenly on top.

  • Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer.

  • Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.

  • Bake uncovered for 15 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.

 

  • Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Add pickles, ketchup, or mustard between layers for extra flavor.

  • Substitute beef with ground turkey or chicken, adjusting seasoning as needed.

  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the oven or microwave.

 

  • Freeze assembled (unbaked) sliders for up to 2 months. Bake from frozen, adding 5–8 minutes.
